Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one of: auto mechanic apprenticeship certificate or 5+ years verifiable experience.
  • CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement within six months.
  • State education mechanic certification within six months.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of automotive trade practices.
  • Ability to complete routine reports and maintain records.

Responsibilities

  • Document finished work orders in the Electronic Ticket System.
  • Perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs on school buses and other district vehicles.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and shop records.
  • Complete monthly bus inspections on schedule.
  • Promote safety in the garage and maintain clean work environment.
  • Drive school bus routes when required.
  • Maintain and recertify CDL as required.
  • Respond to calls outside regular hours as needed.
