Job summary

Durango School District is seeking CDL Bus Drivers for the 2026/2027 school year. Positions vary from 5-8 hrs/day, and offering 9-12 month positions, with opportunities to work additional hours driving activities.

Training is provided at the rate of $24.11/hr for individuals who do not hold their CDL with Class B and P2S endorsement at hire. Responsibilities include safe operation of school buses on assigned routes, student health and safety, and adherence to state and district regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must complete District Driver Training.
• Bus driving experience and experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive school buses on assigned routes, abiding by CDE, DOT, and District rules and regulations.
• Transport passengers in a safe and timely manner in all weather conditions.
• Attend to students' health needs and maintain their well-being while en route.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety.
