Job summary

DATTCO, INC in New Britain, CT is seeking a School Bus Driver Trainer to mentor and train drivers, ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies, and support the Driver Training Program.

The role requires CDL B with P and S endorsements, CT DMV eligibility, DOT medical qualifications, and background checks; the successful candidate will lead safety-focused training, conduct behind-the-wheel and classroom sessions, and partner with the Director of Safety to improve programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Three consecutive years of driving experience with a valid license.
• Valid Connecticut CDL Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements; out-of-state CDL may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Communicate, mentor, and train drivers to ensure compliance with all regulations, policies and procedures.
• Conduct behind-the-wheel and classroom pre-service/in-service training.
• Conduct post-accident retraining as needed.
• Conduct driver evaluations and proficiency reviews.
• Provide input to Director of Safety to improve the Driver Training Program.
• Document progress and results of training.
• Maintain active participation in the company safety program and initiatives.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures and state/federal requirements.
