Job summary

Burnet CISD Transportation seeks an experienced school bus driver to operate district vehicles safely and transport students on assigned routes. The role requires a Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, CPR/First Aid certification, TEA certifications, CPI, and TEEX instructor credentials.

Strong map-reading, communication, and student management skills are essential. Two years of school bus driving experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• TEA School Bus Certification and CPI/TEEX instructor credentials preferred.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety procedures for school transport.
• Ability to pass DOT drug testing and annual physicals.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus and district vehicles safely following laws and district policies.
• Conduct driver and monitor training within program guidelines.
• Assist with student management and parent communication as needed.
• Follow routes, schedules, and supervise students boarding/alighting.
• Inspect bus pre/post-trip and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain discipline and positive relations with students and parents.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, passengers, and incidents.
• Attend required trainings and maintain punctuality.
