Job summary

San Marcos CISD is seeking a Bus Driver Trainer to provide comprehensive training for incoming and current school bus drivers and monitors. The role supports accident response, safety programs, and adherence to district policies across all Transportation Department operations.

Responsibilities include retraining personnel, managing records, and assisting with substitute driver duties as needed. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Texas CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements required.
• Texas School Bus Driver Certification required.
• Must pass school bus driver physical examination and maintain valid MVR.
• Experience with documentation and record keeping preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor district drivers and retrain drivers after traffic violations or accidents.
• Assist design, maintenance, and implementation of training programs (defensive driving, bus safety, emergencies).
• Communicate with drivers, parents, and campus staff to address routing and discipline.
• Participate in professional development to enhance district performance.
• Collaborate with staff to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Serve as substitute or extra-curricular driver when needed and handle related duties.
