Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools – Vehicle Operation Services, Leesburg, Virginia, is seeking a Part-time Bus Driver Instructor (VDOE Certified) to lead classroom and behind-the-wheel training, retraining, and CDL testing as needed. Starting date is immediate, with a band 10 salary at $29.17 per hour.

The role requires a VA CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements, 2+ years of driving experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Four (4) years of driving experience.
• Age: Minimum age of 20.
• Licenses and Certifications: CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement for 2+ years in VA.
• Knowledge of school bus operations and safety rules.
• Advanced level of verbal and written fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Instruct all areas of training and staff education provided by the Division of Transportation Training Office.
• Assist in the preparation of materials for all training sessions.
• Perform field observations and ride-along observations.
• Assist with daily school bus operations and safe transportation of students.
• Assist with in-service meetings, recruitment events, and public relations events.
• Provide third-party testing for DMV as required.
