Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four years of driving experience.
• CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement for at least 2 years.
• Minimum age 20.
• Ability to obtain NSC First Aid and CPR Instructor Certifications within six months.
• DOT Drug and Alcohol Suspicion Training within 90 days.
• Certification as Virginia School Bus Driver Trainer and DMV Third-Party Tester as required.

Responsibilities

• Instructs all areas of training and staff education provided by the Division of Transportation Training Office.
• Assists in the preparation of materials for training sessions.
• Performs field observations and ride-along observations.
• Assists with daily school bus operations, ensuring safe transportation and orderly student conduct.
• Supports inservice meetings, recruitment events, and public relations activities.
• Provides third-party testing for DMV as required.
