Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools Vehicle Operation Services in Leesburg, Virginia seeks a Bus Driver Instructor to manage classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, and related duties. The role supports the Transportation Area Supervisor and ensures safe student transport and compliant driver training.

Responsibilities include material preparation, field observations, ride-alongs, and coordination of in-service meetings, open-house events, and DMV testing when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Four (4) years of driving experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License with school bus and passenger endorsement for a minimum of 2 years.
• All Virginia CDL references and required certifications must be met per VA Code and LCPS policy.

Responsibilities

• Instruct all training and staff education provided by Transportation Training Office.
• Prepare materials for training sessions.
• Conduct field and ride-along observations.
• Assist in daily school bus operations to ensure safe transport and orderly boarding.
• Support Transportation In-Service Meetings, recruitment events, and public relations activities.
• Provide third-party DMV testing as required.
