Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District 210 is seeking a Bus Driver Trainee to join our Driver Training Program. The role involves learning to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips, performing pre-trip inspections, and ensuring student safety during loading and unloading from buses.

Successful candidates will obtain a Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements and DPS certification within 90 days of start, while helping maintain vehicle safety, cleanliness, and orderly

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to obtain CDL and DPS certification within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain a valid IV Fingerprint Clearance Card within 45 work days of initial start date.
• Obtain certification in First Aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Acquire skills to assess incidents and resolve situations.
• Develop communication with parents, students, teachers, drivers, dispatchers.
• Assist in transporting students on scheduled routes and field trips safely.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Assist in maintaining order and supervise passengers.
• Provide first aid as necessary.
• Prepare documentation such as mileage, inspections, and reports.
