Job summary

New Braunfels ISD is seeking a full-time bus driver to operate a twelve-passenger vehicle and transport students to and from schools and events. This role is for new drivers working toward their CDL and is a temporary assignment until the CDL is obtained.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, following routes, supervising students, and maintaining accurate records. A Texas driver’s license and CDL eligibility within 45 days are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a clear and valid Texas driver’s license.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Employee has 45 days to obtain CDL after employment.
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests and an agility test.
• Completion of required bus driver safety training.

Responsibilities

• Operate a twelve-passenger bus or other white fleet vehicle safely.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules.
• Supervise students boarding and exiting the vehicle.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report repairs.
• Maintain records such as mileage, fuel use, and passenger counts.
• Comply with traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Communicate with transportation office via radio.
