Gwinnett County Public Schools Transportation is seeking a Bus Driver to ensure safe and reliable transportation for students and staff. You will complete required CDL-related qualifications, participate in training, and maintain safe driving practices while communicating effectively with dispatch and families.

The role emphasizes strict adherence to policies, daily attendance, and positive student interactions, all within a collaborative transportation team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to take directions
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional conduct
• Interact positively with students to ensure safety on the bus
• Operate a school bus in a safe, courteous manner
• Work well as part of a team and comply with GCPS policies

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, timely transportation of students and staff; hours may vary during the school year
• Operate buses in compliance with laws, GCPS policies, and Transportation handbook
• Complete initial and ongoing training and pass health, driving skills, and random drug tests
• Load, secure, and unload students with high safety focus
• Enforce conduct rules and report misbehavior to administrators
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and maintain bus cleanliness and safety
• Prepare reports and communicate with dispatchers, staff, and parents
