Job summary

Gaston County Schools is seeking a dedicated bus driver to safely transport students to and from home, school, and field trips. The role also covers clerical duties within Transportation operations.

Ideal candidates have a valid CDL with P and S endorsements, a clean driving record, and the ability to work independently following routes and schedules. Training will cover safety policies, Bus Driver Handbook, and NC regulations. Health exam and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain a CDL with P and S endorsements.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Minimum six months driving experience.
• Ability to read, write, and maintain records.
• Willing to complete health exam and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports students to and from home and on field trips.
• Performs student counts and gathers information concerning students and routes.
• Maintains bus cleanliness and follows schedule.
• Adheres to Bus Driver Handbook and NC regulations.
• Reports incidents and safety hazards to authorities.
