Job summary

Belton ISD is seeking a School Bus Driver to transport students on assigned routes, perform safety inspections, and ensure orderly conduct on board. The driver reports to the Director of Transportation and works 184 days per year on a full-time schedule.

The role requires adherence to DOT safety standards, incident reporting, and strong communication with school staff and parents. Immediate starting date and competitive hourly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to operate bus.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus daily following assigned route and schedules.
• Drive bus to/from extracurricular activities.
• Anticipate and report problems to minimize delays and ensure safety.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and keep bus clean.
• Report accidents, damage, injuries and mechanical issues with reports.
• Instruct students on entering/exiting and safety rules.
• Maintain discipline and communicate with teachers/parents as needed.
• Conduct emergency evacuation when required.
