Job summary

Support Staff On Demand LLC is seeking a full-time Bus Driver (No Routes) in Texas to safely transport students and staff to field trips and athletic events. The role requires a Class B CDL, clean driving record, and capacity to supervise students in a dynamic, non-route setting.

You will follow schedules, inspect buses, and report incidents while maintaining student safety and compliance with school and district rules. Training and safety certifications are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B).
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of student discipline procedures.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Ability to operate bus.
• JOB GOAL: Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students. Operate school bus that transports students and other personnel to field trips and athletic contests. This position is for a driver that transports students to athletic events, field trips, and dual credit classes. This is not a route based position and will not require the driver to transport students from school to home or from home to school.

Responsibilities

• Drive the bus to and from extracurricular activities.
• Follow assigned routes and adhere to established schedules.
• Check bus for mechanical defects before and after operation and notify supervisor of needed repairs.
• Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, and mechanical failures. Complete required reports.
• Keep assigned bus clean and fueled.
• Supervise students while they board and leave the bus.
• Communicate with teachers and administration regarding student behavior while on the bus.
• Instruct students on safe riding rules and regulations.
• Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Inspect the bus by checking fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes, and steering to ensure it can be operated safely before driving.
• Ensure proper condition of emergency equipment, such as first aid kit, fire extinguisher, flags, fuses, crowbar, and reflector.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area that could cause an accident and inform supervisor of any conditions that are not correctable immediately.
• Report any hazardous conditions along the route.
• Operate two-way radio equipment to communicate with transportation office.
• Work irregular hours as needed.
• Attend and complete required training program to maintain safety certification.
• Keeps records on bus mileage, gas and oil consumption, and number of passengers transported.
