Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Meet state bus driver certification requirements: hours of instruction, pass knowledge exam, licensing, driving test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Complies with Motor Vehicle Laws and Regulations of the State Board of Education.
• Operates the bus on the assigned route and follows authorized directions.
• Wears safety lap belt if equipped.
• Performs pre-trip inspections and reports needed repairs.
• Maintains pupil safety and discipline on the bus.
• Keeps bus clean and adheres to assigned schedule.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops and handles out-of-county trips responsibly.
