Job summary

American Preparatory Academy in Salem, Utah is seeking a School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and events. You will work morning and afternoon shifts and maintain a clean, mechanically sound bus while ensuring a positive experience for riders.

The role requires a valid CDL, clean driving record, and the ability to work up to 25 hours per week on a Monday–Friday schedule. We value reliability, patience with children, and calm decision making during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must possess emotional maturity and demonstrate respect for children and adults.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Two or more years of experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport students and other passengers to and from school and school-sponsored events.
• Obey all traffic laws and APA transportation policies to ensure students arrive at their destinations safely.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times.
• Ensure the safety of students when entering and leaving the bus.
• Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed.
• Engage positively and appropriately with students as they enter and exit the bus.
• Complete assigned routes safely and on time.
• Respond appropriately and calmly during emergency situations.
• Report any safety, vehicle, or route concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
