Job summary

4 O School Services seeks a part-time bus driver to transport students safely on designated routes in Minnesota. This role requires conducting pre-trip inspections, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring on-time performance while enforcing bus rules.

You will communicate with dispatch, school staff, and parents, manage student behavior, and assist with evacuations and emergency procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Follow oral and written directions as required.
• Establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
• Be flexible, friendly and able to quickly rapport with students.
• Work with frequent interruptions and maintain a timely schedule.
• Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality with student and staff information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure the bus is safe to operate.
• Learn routes, local area, and road systems quickly.
• Operate the bus safely on assigned routes and pick up/ drop off authorized students.
• Maintain schedules and strive for on-time performance while ensuring safety.
• Communicate with dispatch and emergency services via two-way radio.
• Manage student behavior and enforce bus rules to minimize distractions.
• Ensure use of safety equipment (seat belts, restraints) as required.
• Report accidents, incidents, and disciplinary issues per policy.
• Maintain cleanliness and adequate fuel levels of the vehicle.
• Comply with school district policies and state/federal regulations.
