Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Clear full background check and health screening.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Understanding of child development.
• Must follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules as students board and exit buses.
• Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles safely and courteously.
• Check vehicle tires, brakes, lights, oil, fuel, water and safety equipment.
• Maintain order among pupils during trips for safety.
• Pick up and drop off students at designated facilities on a strict schedule.
• Report bus malfunctions or needed repairs.
• Prepare and submit travel reports including passengers, hours, mileage, fuel or fares.
• Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
• Keep bus interiors clean for passengers.
• Regulate heating, lighting and ventilation for passenger comfort.
• Follow center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan for continuous quality improvement.
