Job summary

Marietta City Schools in Marietta, Georgia, through the MCS Transportation Department, seeks a School Bus Driver to transport students daily and uphold safety standards.

You must hold a Georgia CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, pass background checks, and complete the DOE Bus Driver training. Starting date is Immediate, with DOE physicals and drug/alcohol testing as required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Twenty-four hours of initial training required (12 classroom, 6 driving without students, 6 with students).
• DOE trainer/driver observation prior to driving with students.
• Must pass criminal background checks and the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate buses in accordance with Georgia law and district routes.
• Maintain prompt attendance.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff.
• Provide professional student management on a daily basis.
• Look out for dangerous situations affecting students.
• Adhere to state and local traffic laws and report to DOE when needed.
• Follow department routes, reports, and policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Keep bus clean and present a professional appearance.
• Report accidents via 2-way radio to dispatch or supervisor.
