Job summary

Marietta City Schools MCS Transportation Department is seeking a School Bus Monitor for Regular Bus Routes in Marietta, GA. This role supports the bus driver to ensure safe student transportation on standard and extended routes, with emphasis on safety, order, and punctuality.

The position requires attendance, clear communication with students, parents and staff, and adherence to department policies. Minimum training is eight hours; background checks may be required, with a full-time schedule

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate in writing and in speech.
• Monitors must have a minimum of eight hours of classroom training.
• Monitors must be able to read, understand and implement written policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver in the safe and efficient transportation of students on regular, special and extended routes.
• Assist driver in maintaining order on the bus and reporting infractions to school or department personnel.
• Conduct required mechanical safety pre-trip inspections and report any problems.
• Assist in accident reporting and in emergencies or incidents as directed.
