Job summary

The Sioux City Community School District Transportation department in Sioux City, IA seeks a Bus Driver Route 30 to provide safe student transport and support the district's curriculum and activities. A valid Class B CDL with P and S endorsements is required; prior school-transport experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class B CDL with P and S endorsements.
• Experience transporting students preferred.
• Ability to read and follow route sheets and safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs route functions necessary to transport students and other authorized personnel safely to and from school or other designated locations in accordance with route sheet and trip ticket instructions.
• Operates and properly secures equipment required to support transportation of students with disabilities or special needs.
• Observes legal and defensive driving practices; adheres to DOT safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Maintains safety precautions when passengers are boarding and departing the bus.
• Transports students to and from school-sponsored events and/or approved field trips as needed.
• Conducts required daily safety inspections of buses; inspects the interior, exterior, and engine of buses to ensure safe operation.
