Job summary

RCMA Mulberry Community Academy in Mulberry, FL is seeking a dependable Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school. This on-site role requires a valid CDL with P and S endorsements, a clean driving record, and completion of required trainings and screenings.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class C CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• If the bus to be driven has air brakes, then the minimum requirement is a Class B CDL.
• Documentation of passing pre-employment Florida Department of Transportation Drug/Alcohol testing requirements.
• Level 2 Background Screening as required by the Department of Children and Families.
• Minimum age of 21 to drive an RCMA vehicle.
• Annual physical examination required for medical approval to drive.
• First aid training and CPR certificates required.
• Transportation Training of 8 hours before transporting children; refresh 4 hours annually.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of students by following established procedures for loading, transporting, and unloading at schools and stops.
• Follow defensive driving procedures on and off the road.
• Handle emergencies per established procedures for vehicle failure, accidents, and evacuations.
• Ensure vehicle is prepared for daily transportation with proper inspections and maintenance.
• Adhere to RCMA funding and DCF requirements.
