Job summary

Stockton Unified School District is seeking a dependable School Bus Driver to transport students between designated stops and schools in a safe, timely manner. The role involves assisting students, operating a bus or van with capacity up to 91 passengers, and following state and district safety rules.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid California Class B Driver License with Passenger and S endorsements, and a School Bus Driver Certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of school bus driving experience desirable.
• Ability to safely operate a bus in all weather conditions.
• Knowledge of applicable vehicle codes and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Transport students from designated stops to schools or activities.
• Assist students entering and exiting the bus and supervise behavior.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and ensure student safety during transportation.
• Maintain pre-trip inspection records and vehicle cleanliness.
• Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and dispatch.
