Job summary

Caldwell-Transportation-Company is seeking an experienced school bus driver to safely transport passengers along regular routes and charters. You will perform pre-trip inspections, assist students, and communicate with school personnel while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Operator’s license with required endorsements and permits as required.
• Good verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drives a regular route, or charter driver with safe operation of the vehicle.
• Read and understand street signs, route sheets and maps.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks.
• Assist students during loading/unloading, including wheelchair lift.
• Coordinate with school staff, parents, and students; attend safety meetings.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills from the bus.
• Clean the inside and outside of the bus as required.
• Perform other duties as contracted.
• Manage student behavior as needed.
• Learn and follow a route sheet/electronic routing device.
