Sylvania is seeking a Route Bus Driver for the 2026-27 school year based at the Solomon District Office. You will operate a school bus on designated routes, ensure timely arrivals, conduct pre-trip inspections, and maintain a clean, safe interior while supporting students and families.

The role emphasizes safety, professional conduct, and effective communication with students, parents, and staff. The district will provide safety training, background checks, DOT physical (paid), and opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL with passenger transport endorsements (we will help with expenses if not passed).
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws for school bus operation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and parents.
• Ability to manage student behavior and maintain discipline.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and drug testing.
• DOT physical required (district paid).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus on designated routes and ensure timely arrivals.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.
• Manage student behavior and ensure a safe environment.
• Communicate with students, parents, and staff about schedules and changes.
• Adhere to traffic laws and district policies while driving.
• Complete route logs, incident reports, and maintenance records.
• Attend safety training and staff meetings as required.
• Respond to emergencies promptly and appropriately.
• Collaborate with transportation team to optimize routes.
