Job summary

York County School Division is seeking a BUS DRIVER - REGULAR to operate a school bus on assigned routes, ensuring safe transport of students and authorized personnel. The role requires a clean driving record, CDL with P/S/Airbrake endorsements, and the ability to follow safety regulations and bus policies.

Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, enforcing student conduct, coordinating with dispatch via two-way radio, and reporting incidents per policy.

Qualifications

• Excellent driving record and clean DMV history.
• Knowledge of CDL manual, Bus Driver Handbook, and safety policies.
• Ability to operate all vehicle types used in transporting students.
• Strong communication via two-way radio and with parents/staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain valid Virginia School Bus CDL with P, S and Airbrake endorsements.
• Inspect vehicle prior to and after daily operations.
• Operate a school bus on established routes in a safe, punctual manner.
• Maintain student discipline and safety on board.
• Report accidents and safety violations to supervisor promptly.
• Attend workshops and safety meetings as directed.
