Job summary

Brentwood School District is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, and district-sponsored events. The driver maintains a safe, orderly environment on the bus and performs daily vehicle inspections.

The role requires adherence to federal, state, and district regulations, clear communication with staff and parents, and completion of safety trainings. Starting wage is $25 per hour; at-will employment and non-exempt status apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience operating school buses or commercial vehicles preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Must meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, athletic events, and other district-sponsored activities.
• Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus and report any mechanical concerns.
• Maintain orderly student behavior on the bus per district policies.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading at designated stops.
• Follow routes and schedules, adjusting for weather or emergencies.
• Maintain transportation records and incident documentation.
• Keep bus clean and presentable inside and out.
• Communicate with transportation staff, administrators and parents regarding concerns.
• Attend safety meetings and trainings as required.
