Job summary

LOGAN-HOCKING SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Anticipated Classified Bus Driver for Route #18 with a 6:00 AM start and 9:10 AM end, totaling about 5 hours 40 minutes across AM/PM shifts. Duties include transporting students on scheduled routes, maintaining safety and discipline, and reporting incidents per district policy.

Qualifications

• Meets Ohio Department of Education requirements and district policy.
• Minimum of two years driving experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Physically capable per rule 3301-83-07 and records checks.
• Completion of semi-annual driver record checks with O.D.E. and district.

Responsibilities

• Drive buses punctually on regularly scheduled routes.
• Operate on approved non-routine/extracurricular trips.
• Maintain a clean bus and inspect it per safety rules.
• Report bus defects to mechanics and document them.
• Obey traffic laws and manage student seating chart.
• Maintain discipline and report incidents appropriately.
• Load/discharge students only at authorized stops.
• Assist with handicapped students when needed.
• Promote positive public relations with community.
• Operate buses only for approved school functions.
• Report all accidents and complete required reports.
• Request vehicle service at least two days before maintenance.
• Transport only authorized students to and from board-approved stops.
• Fuel vehicle as required by regulations and keep fuel above half tank.
• Check bus condition and seats after each route.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Transportation Supervisor.
