Job summary

Heard County Schools Transportation is seeking a Bus Driver Substitute in Franklin, Georgia. This part‑time role requires a valid Georgia CDL with S and P endorsements and air brake credentials, or the ability to obtain them, plus successful completion of Bus Driver Training and a 20‑day probationary period.

The position involves transporting students, maintaining safe operation, and keeping accurate route logs.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED preferred
• Valid Georgia CDL with S and P endorsements required to drive a school bus (air brake endorsement)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and random drug tests
• Must successfully complete Bus Driver Training Program and a 20‑day probationary period

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspection of the bus
• Maintain safe operation and passenger discipline
• Report accidents, route changes, and disciplinary problems as directed
• Observe traffic laws and protect school property and students
• Maintain route sheets and ensure regular maintenance checks
• Present a professional appearance and keep the bus clean
