Job summary

Bardstown Independent School Bus Garage is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver to transport students on designated routes in Bardstown, KY. The role requires adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and communication with school staff to ensure timely and secure student transportation.

Starting immediately, this on-site position offers the opportunity to support District operations and assist in special events and field trips as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience operating a motor vehicle preferred.
• Valid Kentucky CDL or ability to obtain CDL with School Bus endorsement may be required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus on designated routes according to schedules and regulations.
• Maintain bus in safe operating condition and perform daily inspections.
• Assist loading/unloading of students, including those with disabilities when needed.
• Maintain order and discipline among students during transit and communicate with school officials.
• Record maintenance, incidents and student transport details as required.
• Perform emergency procedures and safety drills as needed.
