Job summary

St. Stephen's Episcopal School seeks a part-time afternoon Bus Driver in Austin, TX. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 4–10 pm. You will operate a school bus, transport students to events, and maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness.

Qualified candidates hold a current Class C license (CDL not required), have a clean driving record, and can pass a background check. A weekly schedule includes safety meetings and weekend event transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a current, unexpired Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record; CDL not required.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a bus or other commercial vehicle while following traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport students to and from campus for trips, athletic events, or other events on weekends.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle at all times.
• Ensure the safety of all bus riders and correct rider behavior as needed.
• Perform inspections of the vehicle before and after each route.
• Attend safety meetings as required.

Job Duties

• Safely operate a bus or other commercial vehicle while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Transport students to and from campus for trips, athletic events, or other special events on the weekends.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle at all times.
• Ensure the safety of all bus riders, including correcting bus rider behavior as needed to maintain a safe environment.
• Perform inspections of the vehicle before and after each route.
• Attend safety meetings as required.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous experience in bus driving or commercial driving is preferred.
• Must have current, unexpired class C driver's license and clean driving record; a CDL driver's license is not required.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
