Summit School Services is seeking a Non-CDL Driver to transport students safely and on time, focusing on safety and reliability. A Driver in Training program leads to full driver status after completing required training and endorsements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age (25 years for Tennessee per state law)
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles
• Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening
• Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training
• Must practice defensive driving at all times and avoid accidents by safe driving and work habits
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract-specific Driver requirements

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other vehicle with a fixed or changing route
• Exhibits ethical behavior and reports concerns about improper conduct
• Reports to duty on time and maintains route on time
• Assists passengers during evacuation in emergencies
• Immediately reports any accident or incident per company policy
• Follows company policy on student and passenger management
• Keeps appropriate personnel informed of problems and procedures
• Maintains a neat, professional appearance at all times
• Completes route change sheets, time cards, and repair requests timely
• Maintains cooperative attitude with coworkers, customers, and passengers
• Safely uses vehicle equipment including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned
