Training Pay - $18/hr,

All interested applicants for a Driver position, including those fully qualified with a commercial driver’s license, begin with us as a Driver in Training. We invest heavily in training and development to ensure our drivers are the best in the business.

A Driver in Training will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and related endorsements, and to learn our policies and procedures. Upon successful completion, the Driver In Training will transition into a Professional Driver role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other vehicle on fixed or changing routes.
• Exhibiting ethical practices and personal integrity; reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
• Reporting on time and maintaining punctual routes safely.
• Assisting passengers in emergency evacuations.
• Reporting accidents or incidents immediately.
• Following company policies on student and passenger management.
• Communicating effectively with relevant personnel.
• Maintaining a professional appearance.
• Completing all required paperwork timely.
• Maintaining a cooperative attitude with colleagues and passengers.
• Safely operating vehicle equipment, including lifts, radios, and emergency gear.
• Performing other duties as assigned, including additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers as applicable.

Requirements Include:

• Must be at least 21 years old; for Tennessee, at least 25 years old.
• Possess or be able to obtain valid state licenses and certifications.
• Meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening.
• Satisfactorily complete training.
• Practice defensive driving and safe work habits.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local driver requirements.
