Job summary

Child-Parent Centers is seeking a Driver Custodian to transport preschool children to and from the Head Start center in Bisbee, AZ, and perform custodial tasks around classrooms and grounds.

The role requires a friendly, detail-oriented, and dependable individual who maintains safety as a core value and collaborates with bus monitors and staff. In-person, 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, with potential evening/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age (state licensing requirement).
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Submit a current AZ Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to start date.
• Possess a valid driver’s license issued within the continental United States.
• 3-year driving history (from the state that issued the driver’s license) must be clear of any citations.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Meet all physical, mental, vision, or any other requirements established under AZ law, BCCL, OHS, and FMCSA.
• All agency drivers are required to maintain active personal vehicle insurance.
• Able to pass a company paid physical exam prior to starting work.
• Able to pass a DES Centralized Background Check prior to starting work.

Responsibilities

• Transport children to and from the center and other Head Start related activities in compliance with standards and procedures.
• Complete all Transportation Safety training modules as scheduled.
• Complete pre/post trip inspections for transportation and perform bus checks.
• Maintain bus lists with teaching staff and ensure timely arrivals/departures.
• Support bus monitors to ensure safe transportation and report safety concerns.
• Complete bus safety inspections and keep bus clean and safe.
• Notify supervisor of bus repair needs and use the Work Request System.
• Follow Fleet Fueling procedures and record accurate information in pay-at-the-pump system.
• Comply with emergency communication system policies and carry a cell phone on bus.
• Maintain current vehicle registration and liability certificates on the bus.
