Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking Bus Drivers for contracted, substitute, and trip roles in the Washington Township area. Trainees will be provided to obtain CDL Class B with air brakes endorsements; applicants with existing licenses are preferred.

Contracts guarantee six hours per day with benefits, while substitutes are busier but not guaranteed hours. Starting pay is $28.00 per hour, with background checks and health-related screenings required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience; must obtain a valid CDL Class B with endorsements.
• Must comply with state and federal medical, drug and alcohol testing requirements, and background checks (State Police and FBI).
• Must maintain a good driving record as determined by the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Drive defensively and obey traffic laws; exercise sound judgment for riders’ welfare.
• Use lap belt and implement the child restraint law.
• Transport only those authorized by the Board of Education.
• Follow established routes and drop off students at authorized stops.
• Conduct a walk-through inspection after each route to check for riders or belongings.
• Be in charge of the bus and report disciplinary issues to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Perform a daily pre-trip inspection and file the inspection form daily.
• Participate in emergency evacuation drills as per Board policy.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and training sessions.
• Report accidents and property damage immediately and complete required forms.
• Submit necessary employment documents, including a working phone number for emergencies, to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Maintain seating charts for all routes and report safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Keep vehicles clean and properly cared for.
