Job summary

Washington Township Schools is seeking bus drivers for contracted substitutes and trip services. Training is provided to obtain a CDL Class B with air brakes and passenger endorsements; applicants with licenses already issued are preferred. Starting pay is $28.00/hr, with 6 hours guaranteed per contract day and benefits for contract positions.

Rolling start available for all roles, including substitutes. Responsibilities include safe student transport, daily pre-trip inspections, adherence to

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Must obtain a valid commercial driver’s license with required endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Drive regularly and on field trips as directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
• Ensure use of lap belts and comply with child restraint laws.
• Transport only authorized riders and follow designated routes.
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and report any defects.
• Maintain seating charts and proper vehicle cleanliness.
• Notify supervisor of safety concerns promptly.
