Job summary

South Washington County Schools is seeking Bus Drivers to transport students safely to and from school and related activities. The role offers paid training, flexible hours, and benefits aligned with a school calendar.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and are willing to train for a state bus license. You will interact with students, parents, and staff while maintaining safety and reliability on every route.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid School Bus License or willingness to train.
• Positive interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to interact with all ages of children.
• Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
• First aid and CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the bus before operation.
• Review route directions before driving.
• Follow routes, times and stops; ensure safe loading/unloading of students.
• Transport authorized passengers.
• Obey all relevant laws and regulations.
• Complete required written reports.
• Maintain a clean, fueled bus.
• Operate two-way radio.
• Report mechanical issues to shop.
• Maintain discipline and report issues.
• Report crashes immediately.
• Enforce no smoking or eating on bus.
• Perform post-trip inspections.
• Follow district handbook and contract.
• Other duties as assigned.
