Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent level of education.
• Obtain Oklahoma Class B CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Obtain Oklahoma State Department of Education school bus driver certification.
• Pass a DOT physical examination with drug/alcohol testing.
• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds over 40 feet.

Responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and District policy.
• Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses and complete proper paperwork.
• Report all accidents and complete required reports.
• Observe and obey district transportation policies and procedures.
• Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
• Report students with bus discipline problems to the proper authority and complete paperwork.
• Keep assigned bus clean.
• Keep and maintain assigned schedule.
• Pickup and discharge students only at authorized stops.
• Document mechanical and safety problems pertaining to the bus.
• Possess working knowledge of equipment needed to perform duties.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
