Leesel Transportation is seeking part-time School Bus Drivers in Merriam, KS, for routes serving New Hogan Prep Academy in KCMO. This role offers a flexible weekday schedule with summers off, and paid CDL training is provided.

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience driving a school bus, possess a current CDL with necessary endorsements, and be able to travel as required. The position provides a supportive team environment and opportunities for additional income as a Cover Driver.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Now Hiring Part‑Time School Bus Drivers

Location: Merriam, KS (New Hogan Prep Academy routes in Kansas City, Missouri – must be familiar with the KCMO area).

Schedule: Part‑time, flexible weekday schedule with summers off.

Compensation: Paid CDL training – no experience necessary. Starting pay $23.28–$26.80. Ask about Cover Driver Opportunities where you could earn an extra $1.00 hour and be guaranteed 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Arrive at destinations on schedule.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections.
• Conduct child checks after each route.
• Use navigation tools to plan efficient routes.
• Maintain a clean, fueled, and well‑maintained vehicle.
• Keep accurate mileage and maintenance records.
• Interact with students, parents, and staff in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sign‑On Bonus

Fully Credentialed: $5,000 (paid in three installments – $2,000 after 90 days, $1,500 after 180 days, $1,500 after 270 days).

Non‑CDL (must complete training and be fully credentialed within 45 days): $2,000 (paid in three installments – $750 after 90 days, $625 after 180 days, $625 after 270 days).
