Legacy Academy - CDL Bus Driver

Position Overview

Legacy Academy is seeking a dependable and safety-minded CDL School Bus Driver to provide daily transportation for students to and from school and to athletic events and other school-related activities. This role plays a vital part in supporting the daily operations of our school and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students during transit.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along designated morning and afternoon routes
• Transport students to extracurricular events, including athletic games and school activities
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure safe operation
• Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and Legacy Academy transportation policies
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents in a courteous and professional manner
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the Fleet Manager or Operations Director

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Clean driving record and strong safety record
• Previous school bus driving experience preferred
• Strong commitment to punctuality and reliability
• Ability to manage student behavior calmly and respectfully while maintaining a safe environment
• Must pass a background check and drug screening

Work Schedule

• Morning Route: Approximately 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM
• Afternoon Route: Approximately 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
• Event Transportation: Additional hours as scheduled for sporting events and activities (mostly afternoons/evenings, occasional weekends)
