All applicants for a Driver position, including those fully qualified with a commercial driver’s license, start as a Driver in Training. We invest heavily in training and development to ensure our drivers are the best in the industry.

A Driver in Training will receive training to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL), related endorsements, and to learn our policies and procedures. Upon successful completion, you will transition to a Professional Driver role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing safe, reliable transportation by operating a school bus or similar vehicle on designated routes.
• Maintaining high ethical standards and integrity; reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
• Punctually reporting for duty and maintaining routes safely and on schedule.
• Assisting passengers during emergencies and reporting incidents immediately.
• Following company policies for student and passenger management.
• Completing and submitting all required paperwork timely.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
• Utilizing vehicle equipment safely and efficiently.
• Performing other duties as assigned, including additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers as applicable.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old; 25 for Tennessee drivers.
• Possess or be able to obtain valid state licenses and certifications.
• Meet physical and medical requirements, pass drug screening.
• Successfully complete all training requirements.
• Practice defensive driving and safe work habits.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local driver requirements.
