Job summary

The Amherst County School District Transportation Department in Amherst, Virginia is seeking a Diesel/Automotive Technician to repair, service, and maintain diesel and gasoline powered school buses and other automotive equipment. You will prepare and maintain records under the supervision of the Automotive Technician/Shop Supervisor.

Responsibilities include performing DOE-required preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing vehicles, operating shop equipment, and maintaining state

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid Virginia CDL with School Bus endorsement required.
Experience with diesel and gasoline buses and school vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform DOE-required periodic preventive maintenance.
Diagnose, repair and service gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.
Operate shop equipment and perform maintenance on buses and vehicles.
Maintain and issue state inspection stickers.
May serve as a bus driver when required.
