Job summary

DATTCO in Pawtucket, RI, is looking for an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic to join our School Bus Fleet Maintenance team. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and support safe student transportation for multiple districts.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in repair, owns tools, and holds a valid driver's license; CDL and ASE certifications are a plus. This full-time role offers training, competitive pay, and growth opportunities within a

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Own a set of tools and equipment.
Minimum 1 year experience in automotive, truck, diesel, or bus repair.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
ASE certifications or willingness to obtain ASE certifications.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on school buses and fleet vehicles.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, diesel, electrical, and drivability issues.
Inspect and repair brake systems, tires, steering, suspensions, transmissions, cooling, fuel, exhaust, HVAC and electrical systems.
Respond to road calls and assist with mobile repairs to keep routes on time.
Complete repair orders, inspections, and parts usage documentation accurately.
