Job summary

DATTCO, INC in Portland, CT is hiring a full-time Automotive/Diesel Mechanic for the School Bus Fleet Maintenance team. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose diesel and electrical issues, and service brakes, tires, drivetrains, and HVAC systems on school buses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical training required.
• Experience with automotive, diesel, or bus repair is preferred.
• Own a set of basic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and service inspections on school buses and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, diesel, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Inspect, service, and repair brake systems, tires, and drivetrain components.
• Respond to road calls and assist with mobile repairs to keep routes safe.
