Job summary

DATTCO, the New England leader in private transportation, is hiring an Automotive/Diesel Mechanic for our School Bus Fleet Maintenance team in Durham, CT. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and ensure safe, reliable buses for over 140,000 students.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Team focused attitude with pride in safe, quality work.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical/diesel systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service inspections on school buses and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, diesel, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Inspect and service brake systems, tires, steering, suspension, and drivetrains.
• Respond to road calls and assist with mobile repairs to keep routes running smoothly.
• Document repair orders and parts usage accurately and promptly.
