Job summary

Zūm Services, Inc. is seeking a school bus attendant in Spokane, WA. You will help ensure student safety and a positive environment during transportation, with a safety-sensitive role due to on-bus supervision and potential hazards.

Responsibilities include assisting with boarding, monitoring behavior, assisting with special needs (including wheelchair lifts), and aiding in emergency procedures while coordinating with drivers and school staff.

Qualifications

• This is a safety-sensitive role and requires ability to pass background checks and drug test.
• Minimum age 21 years and valid driver's license/work authorization.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to work split AM/PM shifts daily.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

As a school bus attendant at Zūm, you will play a crucial role in ensuring student safety and maintaining a positive environment during school transportation.This is a safety-sensitive positionbecause you are responsible for the care and supervision of students while the vehicle is in motion, and any impairment could create a significant risk of harm. School bus attendants must be patient, attentive, and able to manage student behavior while supporting the bus driver's focus on safe vehicle operation.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely
• Monitor student behavior and maintain order during transit
• Support students with special needs, including operating wheelchair lifts
• Assist with emergency evacuations and safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with drivers, parents, and school staff

Requirements:

• This role is classified as a safety-sensitive position
• Minimum age: 21 years
• Valid driver's license/identification card/work authorization
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks and drug test
• Ability to work split shifts (AM/PM) daily
• Experience working with children (preferred)
