Job summary

Tri County Transportation Inc. is seeking a Bus Aide to assist students boarding, exiting, and traveling safely on the bus. The role focuses on keeping a secure environment so the Driver can remain focused on driving tasks.

The Bus Aide will greet students, help them as needed, and perform duties such as securing seat belts and assisting with stairs and wheelchair restraints. This position supports rural school districts through safe, reliable service.

Qualifications

• The Bus Aide assists students boarding and alighting the bus and maintains a safe environment during travel.
• Greet students in a pleasant manner and provide necessary assistance as needed.
• Assist with securing wheelchairs and restraints, and help with stairs and movement on the bus.

Responsibilities

• Help the Driver focus on driving the assigned vehicle.
• Greet students in a pleasant manner.
• Help students as necessary.
• Ensure all students arrive safely at their destination.
• Perform child checks at the conclusion of every tour of duty.
• Always maintain a safe environment on the bus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Kneeling and fastening wheelchair restraints
• Bending and stooping as needed to assist with various tasks
• Ascending and descending stairs of school bus
• Fastening children securely in seats
• Performing other related tasks as required
