Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Bus Assistant to support safe student transportation and a positive, educational bus ride. You will work with the Bus Driver to supervise children, load/unload safely, and help maintain order and communication with staff and families.

The role emphasizes following state requirements, assisting in daily paperwork, and promoting a calm, educational bus environment.

Qualifications

• No formal education required for this position.
• Must meet Oregon Early Learning Division requirements within 6 months from date of hire.
• Experience with school transportation is not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bus Driver in supervising children on the school bus.
• Help load and unload children safely and verify the correct rider for release.
• Ensure all passengers are seated and buckled in properly at all times.
• Distribute belongings and maintain organized bus space.
• Participate in basic transportation safety education with children.
