Job summary

The Mukilteo School District is seeking a Substitute Building Administrator to provide educational, instructional, and operational leadership. This role reports to an Executive Director or Principal, guiding programs and services to advance the District’s mission and 5-year plan.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of subject matter/course content relevant to assignment.
• Knowledge of and skills in using effective instructional strategies and practices.
• Ability to effectively address a wide range of academic and social needs including at-risk, cultural diversity, ELL, and special education students.
• Skills in planning and implementing lessons based upon state standards, district curriculum and student needs.
• Skills in managing and promoting positive student behavior.
• Knowledge and understanding of elementary and secondary school philosophy.
• Ability to effectively meet developmental needs of students.
• Skills in and ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Skills and abilities in organization, time management, record keeping.
• Ability to interact positively and effectively with parents, students, staff, and within the school community.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to strengthen job-related competencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership aligned and committed to the District's Strategic Plan for the continual improvement of educational programs.
• Demonstrate a commitment to equity and building a diverse community.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate programs and services within the school.
• Maintain positive staff relationships with all stakeholders of the Mukilteo School District.
• Direct staffing and budgetary decisions.
• Maintain and submit information/records including student progress.
• Participate in various meetings for implementing school initiatives and addressing student needs.
• Implement and comply with District policies and the Code of Professional Conduct.
• Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours specified.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
