Job summary

Anova Education is seeking a Behavior Specialist (Pupil Services) for the Fairport area in a 10-month, full-time school-year position. You will provide direct consultation on student behavior, conduct assessments, and coordinate Behavior Intervention Plans for students with disabilities in a Behavioral Health setting.

The role requires a Master's degree in a related field and NYS certification, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or higher in a related field and NYS school settings certification.
• Active NYS professional or permanent certification in relevant tenure areas.
• Minimum five years' experience with students with disabilities desired.
• Training and experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis; BCBA certification or progress toward it.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct consultation on student behavior and environmental supports to staff, families, and administration.
• Assess students academically, behaviorally, socially, and functionally.
• Develop and coordinate Behavior Intervention Plans and Functional Behavior Assessments.
• Attend and present at meetings (BIP reviews, PLCs, faculty, CSEs).
• Provide training on evidence-based behavioral interventions to staff.
• Participate in team meetings to plan curriculum and supports.
• Provide crisis support and guidance to school teams and families as needed.
• Collect and analyze behavioral data to monitor progress.
• Build positive rapport and collaborate with students, staff, families, and district representatives.
• Stay current with certifications and research in the field.
• Adhere to Monroe One BOCES policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Master's Degree in Special Education / School Psychology / Social Work

NYS Certification in school setting

5+ years of experience with students with disabilities

Training in Applied Behavioral Analysis

Board Certification (BCBA) or progress toward it

Knowledge of Federal & State Special Education policies

Knowledge of NYS Standards
